Dodgy solicitor Brian Fowler is at it again!
The History
Last year, I wrote how idiot how solicitor Brian Fowler had ballsed up a claim in the High Court, basically by being a pillock – and how he ran into hot water with a High Court judge after drafting legal documents that were frankly a joke.
Bodger Brian had also managed to annoy his own barrister John Boumphrey, by claiming that the Boumphrey was doing work that in fact Bodger (or potentially disgraced solicitor Gary Anderson) was doing. The Barrister made it very clear it wasn’t him who settled the pleadings – just before Master Fountaine was about to hear an application to strike out!
This was a case involving pensioner Stuart Potter, who had been harassed and repeatedly threatened by dodgy solar panel company A Shade Greener, ran by former Darlington FC owner Stewart Davies.
The result of Brian the Bodger’s misconduct resulted in A Shade Greener abandoning the High Court claims and paying Potter’s legal costs.
One would have hoped that this act of abandonment would have drawn a line under matters – but sadly not!
Back in the Saddle
Ostensibly having abandoned their libel claim against Stuart Potter, before it got struck out, you may think that Brian the Bodger and Stewart Davies would leave the man alone.
But sadly this wasn’t case. 2025 saw Bodger back with with attitude (as reported by the Daily Mail), this time demanding the pensioner pay some £19,158.81 with just 14 days notice.
Seemingly the issues of Libel and Harassment brought against Potter had vanished, and this was now a Letter of Claim in which a fresh claim was made, apparently due to “loss of generation”.
Evidently, A Shade Greener are going to keep trying and trying until they ‘get something’ on poor Stuart Potter.
As I have written previously, other individuals who fell fowl (typo intentional), of Bodger Brian received 12 letters in as many months. This is not the conduct of a normal solicitor!
Harassment
Far from poor Stuart Potter being the aggressor of harassment; it couldn’t be clearer that he is the person being harrased.
As we know, the Solicitors Regulatory Authority have warned solicitors against writing to people, when their claim is exaggerated and/or not arguable in law.
It is also an act of harassment under the Malicious Communications Act 1988 to send communications to someone that may undue stress or alarm. Plainly making spurious demands for £20,000 ‘or else’ qualifies as that?
There is also the question about a Civil Restraint Order. The chances are that had the claim struck out (which is where it was heading), the Court could have certified the claim as being totally without merit, the Court could have then placed a Civil Restraint order on A Shade Greener and/or Brian Fowler from making further claims or threatening them.
It is obvious that Bodger Brian is simply trying to cause maximum alarm and distress against Stuart Potter (and potentially others). He’s doing so not because A Shade Greener have a legitimate claim(s) – but because A Shade Greener is annoyed that they are having complaints about them on Facebook – and seemingly in the mainstream media.
Brian Fowler continues to cause disgrace to the legal profession and bring it into disrepute. It is about time the Solicitors Regulatory Authority stepped in!
